Rob Edgcumbe - Director of Maintenance Services at Porterbrook will open RSN 2026

Rob Edgcumbe joined Porterbrook as their Interim Programme Manager, looking after the major projects in the business. He has since become a permanent member of the team as their Director of Maintenance Services, bringing with him 25 years of rail experience.

Rob’s team are responsible for leading a series of overhauls from combined C6 and interior refreshes to C4 engine and gearbox changes. They consult with suppliers across the industry every day to create a safer, more reliable railway for the future.

Porterbrook are strongly supporting RSN 2026 and have a team in the Jobson James Rail Meet the Buyer Event and are also exhibiting at RSN on stand C8.

The business has a diverse portfolio of Rolling Stock amounting to some 4,000 vehicles and invest over £100m a year, maintaining their fleets.

Porterbrook proudly opened the UK’s first continuous test loop to the industry on 4th June this year at their Long Marston Rail Innovation Centre.

 

In January the company acquired a fleet of 404 vehicles operated by West Midlands Trains.

Porterbrook also developed HydroFLEX the UK’s first hydrogen powered passenger train, built and tested by their team of talented engineers
