The Right Worshipful, the Mayor of the City of Derby; Councillor Robin Wood will visit Rail Show RSN 2022

The Right Worshipful, the Mayor of the City of Derby; Councillor Robin Wood will visit exhibitors the RSN 2022 Expo and Conference at 9.30am on 7th July 2022 at Derby Arena.  Keven Parker one of the joint organisers will escort him on a tour visiting a selection of the 145 exhibitors.  The event is firmly focused on the Rail Industry.

During his time in office, Robin wants to be able to promote Derby as a place to visit, to invest and to live and to promote the heritage assets of Derby.

Councillor Wood has become mayor for the third time altogether, having previously taken up the role of Derby’s first citizen in 1993-94 – one of only a handful of people who have held the title Mayor of Derby multiple times in the role’s 400 year history

 

 

Tracing his ancestry back 420 years within Derby city-centre, Robin has a passion for Derby’s heritage and has been an active member of Derby Civic Society since 1978. He believes that the city will prosper best economically and socially if it embraces the best of the old as well as the best of the new, and that Derby offers many unique features that can attract inward investment. He combines duty and pleasure by supporting Derby as the world’s capital of Real Ale. He is the longest-serving Board Member of Viva Sinfonia orchestra and a Trustee of Derby Museums. He was vice-chairman of the former Metro Cinema and has served on the boards of Derby Quad and Derby Playhouse.

Derby has always been a Railway City steeped in Railway Heritage and is widely considered to be the technical and manufacturing centre of the UK Rail industry; today retaining a vibrant and diverse number of railway companies. 

RSN 2022 is a Full Scale, truly International, indoor Rail show focussed specifically on Passenger and Freight Rolling Stock, Technical Enhancements, Depot Equipment, Ancillary Services and the Rail Supply Chain in 2022 it is organised by people active everyday in the rail industry, so the show really is provided by Railway People for Railway People.
